Hey everyone, welcome to my blog where I share my thoughts on faith, culture, and current events. Today I want to talk about something amazing that happened at Asbury University, a small Christian school in Kentucky. You may have heard about it already, but if not, let me fill you in.

Asbury experienced a revival that lasted for more than a week, starting on February 8th. It all began with a chapel service where a guest speaker preached about becoming love in action from Romans 12. The students were so moved by the message and the presence of the Holy Spirit that they didn’t want to leave. They stayed in the auditorium for hours, praying, singing, confessing, repenting, and reconciling with each other.

The revival spread like wildfire on social media and attracted tens of thousands of visitors from all over the country and even the world. People came to join the worship, witness the miracles, and seek God for themselves. Some said it was like a glimpse of heaven on earth.

But what impressed me the most was how Asbury protected the revival from being hijacked by human agendas or disrupted by hostile forces. The school administrators, staff, faculty, and volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure that everything was done in order and with decency. They also made sure that Jesus was the only celebrity in the spotlight. They didn’t livestream the services or allow any media interviews. They didn’t promote any particular denomination or doctrine. They didn’t let anyone take over the stage or manipulate the crowd. They simply let God do what He wanted to do.

I think this is a great example of how we should handle revival when it comes. We should not try to control it or claim it for ourselves. We should not seek fame or fortune from it. We should not be afraid of it or skeptical about it. We should just humble ourselves and cooperate with God’s work.

If you want to learn more about what happened at Asbury, you can read this article from Christianity Today: ‘No Celebrities Except Jesus’: How Asbury Protected the Revival

I hope this inspires you to pray for revival in your own life and community. I believe God is still moving today and He wants to pour out His Spirit on all flesh. Let’s be ready and willing to receive it.
