I have the best friends, the best fans in the whole world. And I just couldn\u2019t be happier. I\u2019m good. I love who I am, I don\u2019t care. I\u2019m big, I\u2019m not, I don\u2019t care. I love who I am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd yeah, I\u2019m going to be taking a second from social media because this is a little silly,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019m 30. I\u2019m too old for this. But I love you guys so much! I will see you guys sooner than later, but I\u2019m just going to take a break from everything.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gomez\u2019s comments were a bit vague, but for the past few days she\u2019s been fielding comments from social media users about her appearance after she posted a TikTok saying she \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.buzzfeednews.com\/article\/leylamohammed\/selena-gomez-wishes-pretty-bella-hadid-the-weeknd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wished she was as pretty as [model] Bella Hadid<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Selena Gomez joking about Bella Hadid&#039;s viral audio \ud83d\ude02\u2764\ufe0f\" width=\"1778\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CSKsTAkY5xw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Users quickly began pitting Gomez and Hadid against one another, and things turned sour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seemingly in response to the hate, Gomez shared she would be taking a break from social media altogether.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn\u2019t the first time she\u2019s stepped away. Gomez has a history of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/relevantmagazine.com\/culture\/selena-gomez-says-four-and-a-half-years-off-the-internet-has-changed-her-mental-health-for-the-better\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">taking breaks<\/a>&nbsp;from social media to prioritize her mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t been on the Internet in four and a half years,\u201d Gomez told&nbsp;<em>Good Morning America&nbsp;<\/em>last year. \u201cIt has changed my life completely. I am happier, I am more present, I connect more with people.
